Resist Temptations

Can a man carry fire next to his chest
and his clothes not be burned?

Or can one walk on hot coals
and his feet not be scorched?

Big words from Proverbs 6:27-28. We really do not realize it but sometimes we flirt with sin and play with the enemy.

Sometimes we know that his offers are wrong but we want to see how it looks. Sometimes even if we already have the biggest feeling that it is wrong, we still like to see the options. We like to see the offer. It started from the bread until it escalated to something bigger and that is to have authority and be the owner of the world.

There is no such thing as free lunch. The devil said that you will have to worship him and kneel down to him in as an exchange.

When we are so consumed with the world and its patterns then our concerns are of the world also. Money becomes the god we serve. We become a slave to time. And we forget the God that we know.

Resisting Temptations

Rely on the power of the words of God to rebuke, and not our own will power. Our will power is only enough to a certain extent but our God never misses if we trust Him and pray to Him.

We can only survive the temptations in humility.

In humility, we submit to the will of the Lord and not to the will that we know or we think we have.

So hold on to the words of the Lord. Meditate on it because His words will always make the devil helpless and he will go away.
